We are musicians who observe\, support\, and hold space for the connection between dancers and musicians formed during a live dance/music event. One common thread in the music of NataDas at this point is Trey Crispin\, the curator and leader of these ensembles for live performance. He has been performing live ecstatic dances for 15 years. NataDas – Servant of Dance – is a group that creates a deep moving tapestry of sound that looks to the movements of dancers as our written music. In our opinion everyone gets farther when we do these things together and not alone. In this taster class\, you will get a glimpse into the depths of this form – contact improvisation. The class will be taught with a playful lense and will focus on building capacities to track and sense while working with a partner. Hana’s style of teaching is fun\, with a foundation around anatomy and physics as well as deep somatic presence. These classes are for all levels\, each class will build on each other but drop ins are welcome! \n\n\n\nHana is a dance and movement facilitator with a focus on somatics\, embodiment\, and trauma therapy. Hana’s background with movement began as a child\, with 7 years of Bharatnatyam\, a traditional South Indian temple dance. Hana’s upbringing in India was filled with yoga and meditation\, inspiring her to obtain her Yoga Teacher Certification at 19 (2013) and initiating her passion for embodiment. In 2016\, Hana began to explore somatic movement techniques\, such as Body Mind Centering\, Axis Syllabus\, Alexander Technique\, Feldenkreis and more\, as well as contact improvisation. Since then\, Hana has traveled the globe for several years of intensive study with world renown teachers such as Nita Little\, Ray Chung\, Kira Kirsch\, Frey Faust\, and many more. In the last two years Hana received her certification in integrative somatic trauma therapy and has been exploring the therapeutic benefits of embodiment and the arts. Hana has been teaching for the last 7 years with a focus on: sound and movement improvisation\, expressive movement arts\, exploring touch and sensation\, solo improvisation\, contact improvisation\, anatomy in dynamic motion (influenced by the axis syllabus)\, fighting monkey\, and Body Mind Centering. \n\n\n\nMassage Therapist\n\n\n\n$2/minute \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHelp us set up or tear down in exchange for entry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign-Up to Volunteer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets sometimes sell out.
