About Ashtara

GÖLDNWAV sets are a sonic exploration that move the body and breath into new realms of expression. With powerful basslines, experimental club sounds, worldly rhythms, potent vocals, shamanic undertones, and a true goldnwav of dance, each journey invites you to reconnect with your true self through movement.

Drawing from 15+ years of experience as a Professional Dancer turned Somatic Dance Guide, her DJ sets flow naturally from her deep understanding of movement and energy. Her music creates a space where dance, breath, and rhythm come together to heal and elevate the soul.

In 2025, she released her debut single “Be the Spark”—a genre-bending fusion of deep bass, dubstep infused melodies, and hip-hop vocals that embodies her signature sound and energetic imprint.

Having shared the stage with artists like Maddy O’Neal and featured at festivals like Unison Fest and High Vibe, as well as being a resident DJ at ecstatic dance events from the Hawaiian Islands to the Dirty South, GÖLDNWAV’s sets are an eclectic, curated experience designed to ignite the dance floor and take you on a transformative journey.

Dancing with the Point of Contact
Let’s explore contact improvisation through one of its most essential elements – the point of contact. Playing with this frame we can practice deep listening, sensing weight, breath, and impulse with our partner, moving from our fluid, resilient tissues, and dancing with, around, and through the point of contact. Discover how attention to this simple concept can lead to connective and satisfying dancing. Jessica Damon is an independent dance artist and teacher of movement. She has been performing and making dance for 30 years (in the Bay Area, Boulder, Asheville, and New York) and has devoted the last several to her love for and endless curiosity about contact improvisation. Her contact teachers include Adwoa Lemieux, Ishmael Houston Jones, Rene Alvarez, Katja Mustonen, Brad Stoller, Frey Faust, Antoine Ragot and her many dance partners. She has an MFA in Dance, is an Axis Syllabus teacher candidate, and offers therapeutic Pilates instruction in Asheville and online.
