July 16 : DJ Illusion of Duality with Percussionist, Kevin Spears

The Illusion of Duality can be found somewhere in between the Bass & the Treble… This alchemical artist has been on a musical journey since birth to truly re-discover his sound. Born & raised on the west coast playing strings, percussion & keys, The Illusion of Duality honed his craft on the decks far before electronic music was popular in the early 2000’s. With the use of frequency embedded in a universe of rhythm he navigates between the Darkness & the Light to bridge the gap between electronic and organic. On the dance floor, his worldly sound will guide you on an ever evolving adventure of downtempo bass, medicine house and pure vibes sure to lead you “home”. Beyond the good or the evil, to a place where we are all ONE.

Kevin Spears (percussion accompaniment to DJ and sound bath):

Coming to Beat Church for the first time to present a sound bath like no other is international musical artist Kevin Spears.
Kevin is a multi-instrumentalist and masterful player of the exotic and ethereal instrument called kalimba.. Playing since the age of 10, the kalimba has been an irreplaceable form of musical medicine for Kevin and the audiences he has shared this beautiful musical instrument with..
As a literal One-man musical ensemble, Kevin is quickly rising in the Ecstatic Dance world as an incredible music presenter who plays all of his instruments live with a deep spiritual intent of healing and jubilation..

July 23 : DJ BLKSVN
]
Justin Gray Morgan is a visual artist and DJ, performing under the name BLKSVN. Born and raised in Asheville, he has returned home after years living abroad and is happy to be an active part of the thriving arts and music community here. His visual art is an esoteric study of sacred geometry, manifested in the form of large, intricate laser-cut Mandalas. He brings this same level of attention to detail and study to the forms that arise from overlaying patterns in music. BLKSVN specializes in Bass Music, and you can catch him DJing around town or at festivals with Da Ville, or The Sonic Oasis crew.
