About DJ James Nasty

For over a decade, Baltimore, Maryland’s James Nasty has excelled as a DJ and producer well versed in Charm City’s iconichouse music sounds and curious enough to push barriers and genres to their breaking point in search of engaging crowds in the peak of sweat-drenched entertainment.

The breadth of his influences has led to him consistently playing sets so beloved that he’s been twice rewarded as “Best DJ In A Club” by the Baltimore City Paper. Globally, he’s been cosigned by Boiler Room, Mixmag, and Vice – the latter referred to him as playing “comfortable, accessible music.” A diverse set of frequently globe-traveling DJs, including A-Trak, Anna Lunoe, Nicole Moudaber, Maceo Plex, Sirius XM Shade 45’s DJ Wonder, and DJ UNIIQUE, are fond of his work.

When asked to sum up his creative goals in short, Nasty answers in a manner that highlights who he is and why he excels. “Even if it means I have to break the rules, I just want to make people feel some kind of way. I’m a DJ for the people.”

Movement Lab

Authentic Relating with Erin Casey

Movement is life. So is connection. To connect deeply with ourselves while also being present with another person is a courageous, nourishing practice.

In July’s movement labs, we’ll explore being in connection with ourselves and others while expanding our palette of movement, increasing our capacity to be more fully expressed. It’s intended to give space for you to be more here, more alive, more aligned with what’s true for you in the moment, while being in connection with another. For us to feel safe, nourishing connection with our dance community.

Throughout the month, we’ll move through solo, dyadic and small group practices to develop deeper presence and attunement to ourselves and others. They’ll include relational meditations, authentic movement, creative dance exercises, and practices of witnessing and being witnessed, as well as verbal exchange to share reflections, what we notice in ourselves and others, what we notice in our sensations, emotions, thoughts and desires – in order to better understand and be present with ourselves and others. To find safety in connection, to come home to ourselves.

Erin Casey is an artist, dancer, bodyworker and intimacy coach who’s trained with the Somatica Institute, ART (Authentic Relating) International, and many others in practices to deepen awareness of and connection with ourselves and others. She’s been practicing authentic relating and ecstatic dance consistently for over 13 years with the intention to connect with and better understand herself and others, and to feel more at home and embodied here on Earth.

She thrives when there’s space for her to be fully expressed, with healthy boundaries, clear communication, and space for her and others to be just as they are. She’s passionate about creating spaces for others to feel this freedom, feel love for themselves and others, and feel at home in their bodies.
