The Movement Lab for the month of August will be led by John E Gray, aka Professor Gray Balls, encourager of play, facilitator of improv arts, and instigator of consenting connection.
This lab will focus on ways us human beings can have fun by being humans. Each week we’ll focus on a different way we can collaboratively create by getting our thinky brains out of the way and letting our subconscious drive us to playful places like Love City and Silly Town, maybe even Togethernessberg.
Vocal Improv to Instrumental Music Lab
We’ll be accompanying instrumental music tracks with silly jibberish vocals as an easy gateway to explore how we can get our brains out of the way to let our subconscious flow. Building towards the utilization of on-the-spot lyric creation using the tactics of storytelling, theme exploration, perhaps even therapeutically communicating with loved ones in a way you find challenging to do in their presence. This, in the communal support of letting go of ego to make whatever singing, grunting, groaning, whaling, moaning, clapping, snapping, beatboxing, rapping sounds the music and your soul call you to make. Chances are, you’ll be surprised what comes out.
