About DJ Mookite

Mookite is the eclectic DJ project of Michael Fox, offering vibrant, healing sonic journeys grounded in rich, moody tones. Named after the multicolored jasper stone, Mookite reflects Michael’s deep connection to sound as a tool for transformation. Just like the stone’s earthy hues of orange and purple, Mookite’s music weaves together warmth, groundedness, and duality to create immersive experiences for dancers. With a background in massage therapy, Michael brings a unique sensitivity to his sets, not only to evoke healing but to also get the funk down! Based in Asheville, NC, and originally from Richmond, VA, Michael channels his passion for sound into both the body and the soul.

Using our breath as the drumbeat, this energy work series will be all about dropping deeply into the body. We’ll connect with the land and mountains we call our home, and enter the dance in true presence. Through our awareness we can receive the delicious medicine offered by the present moment! And truly shake out and release what’s needing to be moved through us. Together we’ll weave an energetic + loving container to boogie down in. Let’s root into our bodies and feel the bliss of authentic embodiment!
