Movement Lab

SOMATAXY with Scout Rainier Wiley

The “extended body” is an experience we have at the intersection of the soma, the imaginal, and the environment. As a ritual movement practise, SOMATAXY (which translates to “body between”) can help us rebuild our sense of communion with the more-than-human world.

Using techniques inspired by Butoh, Laban-Bartinieff Movement Analysis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Reichian characterology, and more, SOMATAXY will allow all bodyminds to drop more deeply into centre, explore their periphery, and meet the very edges of their sense gates.

Musicians, dancers, flow artists, and performers of all kinds will benefit from this process-based imaginal somatic practise, which expands the bodymind’s capacity for regulation, connection, pattern recognition, and creative expression.
